2017 Chapter Elections

The Central Indiana Chapter will hold Chapter elections via electronic ballot in May 2017.  Ballots will be distributed to Chapter members on May 1.  The ballot will close on Sunday May 8.

The offices for election are:  Vice President and Secretary.  Both offices are two year terms, with the Vice President succeeding to President-Elect, then to President.  Electronic ballots will be sent via email in May 2017.

The candidates for Vice President are Greg Anderson and Brian Smith.

Vice President Candidates:

Greg Anderson is the Corporate Environmental and Safety Director for Kennedy Tank and its associate companies.  Greg has been an environmental, health, and safety professional for nearly 20 years combined experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of environmental, health, and safety programs in industries ranging from construction to manufacturing.
Greg has held positions as an industry consultant to a divisional environmental and safety manager.  Greg has also worked in automotive manufacturing and the process industry.  Greg has been trained as a nationally recognized hazardous materials technician.  Greg has a Master’s degree in Health and Safety Management from Indiana State University and a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry. Greg is also an OSHA authorized instruction for OSHA 10 and 30 Hour courses for both general industry and construction.  He is a certified ISO 14001 Lead Auditor.
Greg is the co-chair for the health and safety committee of the Steel Tank Institute and sit as the institute’s alternate for the ANSI A14 committee.

 

Brian Smith has over 20 years of experience in the areas of occupational health, safety, environmental management, ISO Standards 18001 and 14001, industrial hygiene and workers compensation programs.  Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Indiana University and Master of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.  Brian holds certifications as a Certified Safety Professional and Certified Hazardous Material Manager.  He is currently employed as the Director of Environmental/Health & Safety at Ryobi Die Casting (USA) Inc.  in Shelbyville, IN.

 

Secretary Candidate:

Ginger Dayton is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) who brings with her nearly 30 years of experience building partnerships throughout organizations (warehouse, production, offices, field, and labs) resulting in high levels of customer service and strong employee relations. Ginger is a graduate of Indiana State University, BA in Environmental Health and MS Community Health and Safety Management.  Over 20 years of her experience was with Roche Diagnostics, a global leader in healthcare.  Prior to Roche, Ginger was a Safety Consultant with Bristol-Myers Squibb and Mead Johnson.  Ginger joined the ATI Worksite Solutions Team in November 2016 where she currently serves as Director of Health and Safety and will take over as Corporate Safety Director.  She is responsible for the oversight and management of all health and safety services provided by AWS staff.  Hazard identification, personal protective equipment, incident analysis and prevention, program development and implementation, and training are among her areas of expertise.

2017 Indiana Safety and Health Conference/Expo – Record Breaking Attendance

The 2017 Indiana Safety and Health Conference/Expo hosted by the Central Indiana ASSE Chapter, the Indiana Chamber and the Indiana DOL saw a record breaking attendance of almost 1,110 in attendance!
