September 2010 Chapter Meeting

Global Harmonized System (GHS)

On September 30th, 2009 OSHA published a proposal to modify its existing Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) to conform with the United Nations' Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). The Globally Harmonized System (GHS) will bring about much-needed consistency in chemical classification, labeling, and hazard communication when the system is fully implemented here in the US and worldwide. Come learn more about the most recent GHS news, the implications, compliance strategies, and why you should develop your strategy today rather than tomorrow.

No charge to attend. Attendees will be responsible for the cost of their own lunch. Lunch will be available to purchase on site at the IPL cafeteria. Meals range in prices from $5 to $10. The IPL cafeteria also accommodates those who want to bring their lunch (microwave and plastic utensils are available).

Attendees are asked to please bring a non-perishable food item to donate to a local food bank
