Welcome to the ASSE Connection, the American Society of Safety Engineers, Central Indiana Chapter's electronic communication tool. Here you will find the latest information about the Central Indiana Chapter.

The Central Indiana Chapter has over 500 Chapter Members and On-line community affiliates. The chapter holds monthly technical meetings from September to June that are open to anyone. Nominations Sought for Workplace Safety Awards

Nominations are currently being sought for the 2010 Governor’s Workplace Safety Awards, which recognize the most innovative safety and health initiatives among Indiana’s workplaces. Awards are offered for general industry and construction in four categories: education and outreach (external and internal), innovations and partnerships.

The awards are a result of a partnership among government, business and safety leaders: the Indiana Department of Labor, on behalf of Gov. Mitch Daniels, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and the Central Indiana Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers.
The safety awards are open to all organizations, regardless of size or number of workers affected. All Hoosier businesses, unions, municipalities, schools, service organizations, nonprofit organizations or individuals are eligible to apply for the awards. To qualify, a company must be deemed to be free of compliance disputes concerning all applicable local, state and federal statutes and regulations. Foremost, applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety and health.

The 2010 Governor’s Workplace Safety Awards will be presented during a luncheon on March 3 at the Indianapolis Marriott East. The event is part of the three-day Indiana Safety & Health Conference & Expo, presented by the Central Indiana Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers and the Indiana Chamber in partnership with INSafe and the Indiana Section of the American Industrial Hygiene Association.

Chapter Bylaws Update

Per the guidelines from the Society, the Central Indiana Chapter is required to update the Bylaws every three years to correspond with the current Society Bylaws. The CI ASSE board of directors has reviewed and accepted the 2010 update that is now posted to the chapter website.

ALL MEMBERS - The Bylaws will remain on the Central Indiana Chapter Website for 30 days, until Wednesday, December 23rd for your review. Per the guidelines, we must have at least 45 members respond to accept these as written. Upon review, please respond/send your comments to the centralindianaasse@gmail.com email address.
